Avant Guarde! Mutual Aid can Migrate.
I'm doing a class soon on FLOSS for community organizers and community members. Friendica is part of the fediverse tour, of course, as part of a list of useful and safer-than-profit tools.
This will serve as a little starter template to people who didn't know friendica existed, naturally, but it is meant to be my real and geolocal mutual aid profile where I'll talk about what I'm working on, what I need, and be available to chat with my neighbors about how we can help each other along the way.
My hope is that existing networks, resources, and neighbors will find it easier to set up a storefront on the more free and more accessible part of the internet here, and that some new folks may also be encouraged to migrate to safer services and FLOSSer tools.
Skills and Supplies (LOCAL mutual aid)
I can negotiate to contribute skills and use supplies for:
Basic IT (Office functionality and machine up-cycling),
If you bring a USB you may borrow from my library. If you bring me an unsupported device, I may see if it can be put functional with Libre and Open Source software.
I like to help my neighbors with little troubleshooting things when I have the time and headspace (preferably over XMPP chat)
Kitchen: Yes you may have a sample from my Yeast Start, Kombucha Scobi, or Yogurt starter, if they are well and healthy.
I also trade houseplant starts and seeds. Lists coming with the seasons.
I take spotty tree fruit for cleaning-vinegar by appointment. Contact for appointment, batch size, and barter portion.
Williing to coordinate group-batching for oil infusions (try my lemon-thyme olive oil with a fresh dry bread!)
Fiber arts:
I can crochet at an intermediate level and always need more natural yarn. I am learning to spin it myself from plant an animal fibers, but still need a lot of practice.
Weaving at home is still in the future for me but I would like to learn and help.
(I'm probably going to edit this a few times to touch it up and make it look nicer.)
